We concluded 2020 and commenced 2021 this week. Vacation time has flown by too quickly, but such is life.
On Monday as part of a Christmas gift, Grandpa M. installed a cabinet in the laundry space upstairs. Hallie has been wanting a cabinet too get extra stuff out of sight. Now we need to figure out what to do with the space to the right of the cupboard.
Eliza enjoyed a sundae made with the gift Hallie's coworker gave us. What a smart gift Mrs. N gave us by gifting us a sundae bar. So yummy!
Our two ladies decided that they'd like to show off their 'dos on "Dos-day". Hallie straightened Eliza's growing hair. Eliza has learned to braid her own hair and does a pretty mean ponytail for gymnastics. Hallie is glad she is good at and enjoys doing it because Hallie is not a big fan of doing hair.
In the evening we went over to G & G M.'s to celebrate Grandpa's birthday. Yummy cake, Grandma! The kids loved the extra for breakfast the next day.
Hallie got up bright and early Thursday to enjoy the opening of the new Dutch Bros in Provo. Hallie had a hard time figuring out how to do a selfie and how to get the signs in the picture. Hopefully she will get this figured out.
She scored several cool stickers. Probably because she had her jammies on and she was number 10 in line!
The Dutch Bros even marked up Hallie's car! Hallie hasn't washed the car yet but it is on the agenda for tomorrow. Fun memories! Hallie brought everyone home a drink so when they woke from their peaceful slumber they could enjoy something yummy.
We rang out the old and rang in the new quietly at home, and we got to watch some fireworks set off the next subdivision over. Landon had the opportunity to go to a church youth activity but with a late meet scheduled for the Saturday evening and many people not wearing masks or social distancing we asked politely for him not to go, and Landon asked no questions and was willing to stay home with his family.
2021 dawned cold and cloudy, much as 2020 ended. Both kids had activities to start off the year, with Landon prepping in the morning for Saturday's upcoming meet and Eliza horseback riding in the afternoon. No rest for Mom and the kids for sure, as Eliza prefers that Mom take her to horseback riding lessons. We think Eliza likes to watch her mom turn into an ice cube each Friday evening. Annie the horse loves Eliza said Trainer Sara, and we know Eliza loves Annie.
On Saturday evening, Mike took Landon up to USA Gymnastics World to participate in his first meet of the year. He did well in his age group, placing 6th overall in a field of some 22 athletes. We look forward to continued improvement! This will not be Landon's only year as a Level 9 due to age, and with COVID-19 we figure everyone may have a bit of a shaky season. As his parents, we are so proud of Landon and all of his hard work.
On Sunday, Landon took his drone out to explore the neighborhood a bit. He likes the big views he can get from the attached camera! Warm blooded is this one as you can see he does not have a jacket on and spent nearly 30 minutes outside like that. Below are some of the pictures his drone took.
