January, Part 2

So, we are posting for January in April. Why? Because we do what we must.

January 13-January 26

Eliza loves to see what her hair looks like after a meet. Here is what it looked like after San Diego. Eliza even wore this fabulous hair do to school.

Lily and Hallie always get into some kind of mischief. Today it included ice cream and it looks like Lily definitely enjoyed it.

Eliza and Hallie went to the UCLA vs our university women's gymnastics meet here locally. They had a lot of fun and enjoyed spending time together.

Cosmo (the university mascot), Eliza (Level 4), and Emma (Level 3, a friend from gymnastics and school) met up at the meet, and we ended up sitting next to each other.

Eliza likes to steal Hallie's phone and take selfies. As you can see Eliza is becoming quite good at the selfie.

Mike took Hallie to a nice restaurant in Springville called Magelbys for their anniversary. The food was very yummy and we had a very nice time. Celebrating 21 years!

Landon had a meet at Stanford University and so Hallie flew with him out of Salt Lake City. We met up with a fun bear at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

While Landon and Hallie were gone Eliza celebrated 100 days of school by dressing like an old person for school.

Here is Landon and Blake and Landon right before they compete. Somehow Landon left his black shorts in the hotel room. The Stanford Boys Gymnastics team had an extra pair of shorts for Landon. So nice!!!!

Tami, Blake's mom and I took the boys all over stopping by lot of free things to look at in the Stanford area. Here they are at the Hewlett Packard house.

Every once in a while mom needs to get in the picture too.

We stopped by the Google campus store and statues.

Again, the mom's have to have some fun too.

Landon is great to travel with and is such a sport when Hallie want to take pictures.

After visiting Alcatraz Hallie and Landon walked around Fisherman's wharf. Shortly after eating at Boudin's Bakery & Cafe we came across a great show put on my Orion Griffiths. After prodding Landon along Hallie got him to go up and talk to Orion and he is a great guy! A fun experience for Landon.

Sonny, Landon's friend and fellow gymnast is a go getter and won the boys a pizza while watch the Men's Gymnastics meet.

Sonny, Chris Osgood (gymnast for Stanford and former teammate at Victory Gymnastics) and Landon posing after the meet.

New Year, New Decade, New News

Here we are, a couple of weeks into 2020 already. And what a couple of weeks!

We had snow to start the year. Could be worse.

This little fella didn't make it to his house, but social media allowed us to connect him back to his mama.

Eliza seems to have taken up her dad's hobby in earnest, adding her own sense of style to it.

The poor kids had to go back to school on Thursday the 2nd. They were none too happy.

They also started meet season in earnest. Landon competed at USA Gymnastics World in Bountiful.

We also had parent-teacher conferences. Always something interesting to hear about the kids from their teachers. You think you know your child, and then you hear about him or her from a teacher. . . .

Eliza and Hallie headed out of state for Eliza's first meet of the new year. But first, lunch on the road! In Whittier we had a yummy Hawaiian bowl.

While in California everyone needs to go to the .99 store. While there Karrie and I found some fun stuff for the girls to play with while visiting Belmont Park.

In San Diego, Eliza met up with her old Coach Marissa, who came to town for a girls weekend with Coach Sarah. They all had some fun at the beach before the meet.

Even though Savannah is a bit older than Eliza she was a great sport and the girls had a lot of fun together. So glad her family came with us on our road trip.

Meanwhile, in Utah, Landon competed at All American Gymnastics. Mike has learned that it's the numbers that count far more than relative placement. Landon is showing continued consistent progress.

Time to get the hair done for tomorrow's meet! Thank you Mindy Buckwalter!

Sarah (Level 6), Savannah (Level 3), and Eliza (Level 4) hanging out after they had their hair done by Sarah's mom.

A little more beach time before the meet.

And a chance to meet Eliza's birth cousin and her fiancee!

Meet done, time for more fun! We had a great dinner at Hodad's in Downtown San Diego.

This also happens to be our 800th blog post since 2004. That's a lot!
