2022, September 26-October 2

The kids spent a lot of time outdoors enjoying the fall weather going to Jaker's and participating in a Korean cultural/sports activity.

On Monday, some of the kids from the family with which Eliza carpools to school went with Hallie and Eliza to Jaker's.  Both white pumpkins below are over 40 pounds each! The girls picked the pumpkins and got them in the wheelbarrow and pushed them back to the front. The staff was very impressed.  Dog walking money gives you a giant cotton candy on a fun sword.

Landon was impressed that Fergus favored him by sleeping on his bed on Monday night.

Eliza continues to enjoy training the miniature pony, Nugget.

Landon took a dare at school where he got a fun-size Snickers bar (which he later found out was last year's Halloween candy) in exchange for having his nails painted. He had fun and took it all in stride. We don't think this will be a look he will keep. He told grandma and grandpa that it will stay on until it comes off.

Eliza did parts of the cell for her science class. Looks tasty! We're grateful they take pictures and post them for us to see.

On Thursday, she was back in the saddle. Eliza meant to grab Sunny but didn't realize some horses had been switched around and had grabbed a horse named Rocky instead. Eliza still rode well and learned much.

Hallie made tasty food from our CSA produce on Friday, including salsa and spaghetti squash. Salsa anyone?

On Friday evening, we celebrated Grandma M.'s birthday with cake and presents.

Once again, the cat has graced Landon with his attention.

Saturday brought us up to Draper (near the aquarium as seen in the background) and the headquarters of Cupbop, a Korean barbecue-in-a-cup restaurant, where we participated in Korean-themed sports games. Eliza totally got into it, and we all had fun. When registering for the event, they said we could bring people to cheer on the contestants. Both kids asked for Lincoln to come along. When everyone arrived, we found out Lincoln was able to participate too. If you ever want to do something wacky, Hallie will happily sign you up.

Eliza got second place in a hula hoop contest, which is great considering she has never really used one before.

Our team (Team Red -- Dread the Red!) also won the group jump rope contest, getting 15 jumps in!

Sunday was spent mostly at home. Hallie headed over to Grandpa and Grandma M's to see some relatives she has not seen in a long time. Mike spent the afternoon with the kids, and in the evening Mike was a champ to spend the night in a tent with Eliza.
