We had great weather this week for flying kites, visiting the zoo, and strolling along a creek bank.
On Monday, Mike took his sled kite out for another ride.
For Mother's Day, they got Hallie a tumbler too. Here's to our Mama Bear!
Eliza did school work learning about different kinds of triangles. She also made Fergus a collar out of rubber bands.
Fergus joined the party as Mike tried to take in another kite day mid-week. The wind wasn't right, but the sun was delightful.
Thursday was a fun gym day. Eliza needed to let loose after a very restless trip to the psychatrist.
Hallie received this cute appreciation gift from one of her students. On days like this it makes working with children a little extra fun. The apple was filled with Hershey Kisses and the chocolate hit the spot.
Mike ordered some kites earlier in the week as an experiment. They arrived Friday. The wind was super weird due to incoming stormy weather, and apparently it was too strong. This is a picture of the kite moments before the string snapped and he had to go looking for it half a mile down the road in a neighbor's pasture. At least the horses hanging out there were nice, and he did get the kite back in one piece.
Landon got a little something of his own in the mail too: a sword (with an edge like a butter knife). One parent is slightly more excited about this purchase than the other.
On Saturday to celebrate Mother's Day, we went up to Salt Lake for a bite to eat and a trip to the zoo. On the way, we went to the LEGO Store. Eliza bought two Looney Tunes minifigs which just happened to match.
We and a bunch of other people had a grand day out at Utah's Hogle Zoo, visiting with monkeys, giraffes, elephants, leopards, bears, sea lions, and so on.
On Sunday, Mike and Eliza took a bike ride up to the creek trail.
Caught Fergus blepping.
We went back up to the creek in the afternoon. We found a house with golden poppies in the back yard, and Eliza took a walk on the water.
Our townhouse backyard is too small for this girl. The wild calls her name often, and she loves it!
