We saw butterflies and had a car lose a bolt.
On Monday while Landon was at school, Mom, Dad, and Eliza went on a hike near the Spanish Fork Reservoir. It was a short hike, but it wasn't paved. Hallie's idea of going on a walk/hike every day was short lived after this one. We will try again next week.
We saw deer and lots of different wildflowers. We don't usually see deer in the middle of the day. It was fun to see a mom and kiddos.
In the evening, Eliza took Mike to go see the ponies. There were a fair number of mosquitos about, and we both got lots of bites. Grr. Most of us hate using the bug spray to then then need to shower afterwards, but I guess that is better than getting bit as much as some of us have been.
On Tuesday while Landon was at school, we other three went up to Thanksgiving Point to go see the
Butterfly Biosphere. Eliza was a sport and helped other little kids hold the butterflies. Eliza is so great with animals. The attractions at Thanksgiving Point were $5 which made it quite a bargain. We were not the only folks who attended. Hallie imagined a peaceful time for contemplation with the butterflies. Ha ha ha!
Someone who Landon knew from school passed away recently. He and several other boys chose to wear their nice white shirts in memoriam. Hallie had to sneak a picture of Landon as he is not keen on posing for pictures.
Fergus found another cat trap.
Coming home from work on Tuesday evening, Mike felt a THUMP, and his car made a loud rubbing noise when he turned the car to the left. He looked into the wheel well to find this. There's a bolt missing on the control arm if you can't tell. He couldn't deal with it on Wednesday, so he had to have it towed into the shop on Thursday morning. Fortunately, this happened as he was parking rather than driving, and the repair was simple.
On Wednesday, we went with Grandma M. to Beehive Bazaar. Eliza got some cute hair scrunchies with her own money.
On Thursday after horseback riding, Eliza and Hallie went up to the Bartholomew Reservoir. The girls saw ducks and fish. It was still plenty hot, and there were only 20 people at the reservoir. It was sure nice to have the area to ourselves. There is a little path around the reservoir, and on her way around Hallie saw a bunny in someone's yard.
On Friday, Hallie, Eliza, Grandma M and our neighbor Lily went over to Splash Summit. As a perk to Landon's job, his family got passes. We have been too busy to go, so we thought we needed to go once before the season ended. We spent about four hours, and the time flew by. Eliza went down the very big slide pictured below.
Eliza got stung by a bee as she walked through Splash Summit. She recovered quickly and kept on sliding.
We'd be remiss without a parting shot of the cat. Him's ferocious.
The kids'
Ninja Kidz video dropped on Saturday. It's kinda cute. Enjoy! We are proud of them and their 20 minutes of fame.
